Overview of the Cold War - Isabella T.
In 1945 the Cold War began with the separation of Germany. Within the first year issues began to appear. The standing powers left from world war two were at a dispute of different government systems. Butting heads were the superpowers at the time: The United States of America and The Soviet Union. These once comrades stood their ground, one was right and other will always be wrong. Though taking as many partners as offered. Leading to the “Proxy Wars” that split the world into neutrals, communist, or Democrats.
The Soviet Union fought for communism because the soviets believed strikers would eventually take over the government, as well as publicly fought in hopes in gaining all of Germany and Russia. The United States finishing World War two strongly pushed for democracy. The U.S. thought economic stability would keep the peace in the country plus the support of the free enterprise system for assistance in economic growth differed the two estates. The events during the Cold War are a way The soviets and America keep an eye on each other. When one gains an ally the other does the same. For six years They threaten each other. For six years both fight each other in order to show weakness in the other government. They both tried to stop other nations from choosing the opposing side. The Cold War was the era of “I’m right, and you are wrong!”
Today America and Russia have come to despise one and other. Creating stereotypes that portray the other as beast like and cold characters. On the positive side the confliction of these two groups lead to the increase of technology as they tried to outshine each other. For certain countries like Russia military expensive had to be cut. Though another gain for both countries was the numbers of allies. The U.S. and the U.N. still today have one common issues that makes them similar. The both must be involved and make battle seem to be about them.
